Coral in the Astrolabe Reef
Story behind the shot
At high tide, water from the open ocean surges over the top of this platform coral reef off the coast of Kadavu Island in Fiji. The Astrolabe Reef surrounds the southern end of the island, creating shallower lagoons between the reef and the island. This photo is taken at the Japanese Garden dive site about 15’ below the surface, from the outside of the reef facing in towards the island.
