“Tianna”, the bald eagle. The Institute for Wildlife Studies (IWS) and the Catalina Island Conservancy partnered to bring bald eagles back to Catalina beginning in 1980, in an effort to restore the population of the species after they were nearly lost due to DDT poisoning.
